After a busy work-day we come home, finish the dinner and then try to get sleep. Sometimes we watch a few TV programs or read a few pages from any book just to relax our brain. And after a while we feel sleepy and go to the bed. This is actually what happened with most of us.
But, sometimes, after sleeping 3 or 4 hours, suddenly we wake up. And after that many of us failed get asleep again. We all know, how painful that is not to be able to fall asleep again.
Actually there are two types of patient that we face, who are having troubles with sleeping.
1) unable to get sleep
2) unable to maintain a sound sleep
These problems affects directly our everyday work-life and our health. People who are having troubles with sleep often get distracted from their works. They started to lose weight and sometimes it affects even on their food habits. So basically, sleeping is a very crucial work that we human do to maintain our life. And if we can't get a sound sleep we have to deal with a tons of other problems that is directly affected by it.
People who face such troubles with sleeping often get some medicine and try to sleep with it’s help. First of all, without proper instruction from a doctor, we should never get any medicine that makes us asleep. Procedure:
Step-1:
Comfortable Environment:
This is the first step of self hypnosis for sleep. Make a comfortable environment where you will get sleep. Do turn off the bright lights. Make sure you take a comfortable pillow. Try to avoid all kinds of electronic screen(like TV, Mobile phone, Laptop, PC) before you get sleep. This will help your eyes and brain to relax.
Step-2:
Clear your mind:
When we try to sleep there are tons of thoughts do cross our mind. Different kinds of negative thoughts often come to our mind. Stop thinking about those subject. Stop worrying about those things. Clear your mind from worrisome thoughts.
Step-3:
Breathe Deeply:
Relax your body muscles. Close your eyes. Then slowly take deep breath. Feel the air that is coming inside your lung. Give your total concentration on breathing. Concentrate while you let out the air. Don't force, just breathe gently and effortlessly. Relax your jaw muscle while you're breathing, by opening up your mouth.
Step-4:
Visualize:
Like meditation, Self hypnosis for sleep also requires visualizing a relaxing place. It should be your favorite place. You can visualize your childhood home or a peaceful village. You can visualize the top of a mountain, the eve of a fountain or any place you'd like to be.
Step-5:
Spell any word or phrase continuously:
Choose a short verse or a word you like to spell. Spell it each time you take a breath. Concentrate on the meaning of those words. At the same time try to think, how peaceful the word is.
